My name is Doug Mitchell and I started this business when I was 21 years old because I wanted to help people and love designing, creating, and building cars. So basically I have been doing this for over half of my life and I still LOVE what I do.

We offer all kinds of services here at Z-Fever but started out doing mostly doing repair work on Nissan Z’s and even today it is the route of what we do. But I always liked building a car. I like tweaking it, massaging it and molding it into what I think is hot and am constantly pushing the envelope and looking for new challenges. We are always trying to do things that no one has ever done before and I think you will agree once you have looked at our work.

Along the way we started our own product line called Fever Racing parts. It was a way to lower customer costs, increase product quality, and improve profits. Our products are well known and time tested in real racing scenarios. If they work in our racecars they will certainly work for you in you street car. We make everything from intakes to exhausts, manifolds, suspension components, turbo kits, and more…..

I started this business while working out of my car. I had a small box of tools that I carried around in the hatch of my 1978 Datsun 280Z along with a jack and a couple of jack stands. I would go to anyone, anywhere and fix their car. Heck, I remember doing clutch replacements in parking garages in downtown Tampa while the customer was working in their office, it didn’t matter to me. It is that same energy and excitement that drives us today as a company. We love what we do and want to help everyone. We will really go out of our way to get your job done. But that isn’t all we care about. We want your car to be done right. We strive to reduce customer comebacks and have a high degree of quality controls that make sure that you won’t have problems once you leave. Our cars are the fastest cars around and we won’t take shortcuts! Period!

We now operate out of a 13,000 sq/ft facility. We have an 8 bay service center, a 1000 sq/ft of showroom, a fabrication department, an in ground chassis dynamometer, a computer programming dept, a body shop, and more. We provide all kinds of services which include: ALL areas of auto repair and maintenance, engine swaps, engine building, suspension repair and performance, brake repair and upgrades, custom fabrication, interior repair and upholstery, body kits install, full body shop services, award winning paint jobs, dyno tuning, ROM tuning ECU’s, and much, much more.

We have gained popularity mostly through our engine swap packages. We started doing custom engine swaps back in the late 80’s. We used to do n/a to turbo engine swaps in the Nissan Z-car. Then we started doing real JDM engines in the mid 90’s. I did my first SR20DET swap back in 1998 and since then, we have been well publicized for being one of the nation’s premier tuner shops because of all the crazy swaps we have done and the quality of work that we provide. We have had many of the cars we have built featured in magazines like Sport Compact Car, Modified, Urban Racer, Turbo, Super Street, Import Tuner, Makes and Models, and more. We import our own JDM engines and are experts with the SR20DET, VG30DETT, RB20DET, RB25DET, RB26DETT, VQ35DE, VQ35HR, 1JZGTE, 2JZGTE, VK45DE, and have experience with just about every popular JDM swap engine you can imagine.
